St George’s School in Abergele proved itself to be at the cutting edge when it had a chainsaw wood carving demonstration last week.
Local woodsman Mark Earp of Treecycle gave pupils at St George’s a demonstration of his wood carving skills and afterwards presented the school with a gift of a carved owl and a spooky face. Clwyd West Assembly Member Darren Millar also watched the display.
Speaking after the demonstration Darren said:
‘The wood carving demonstration was very impressive- the skill required was incredible.
‘The carving is a wonderful addition to the school and really brings the garden to life.
‘The children thoroughly enjoyed the display but it was definitely a case of don’t try this at home!’
