Aberystwyth University has reported that all students from its Seafront Residences have now been rehoused, or have accepted the offer to travel home or to another part of the UK for the weekend, ahead of this weekend’s predicted high tides and stormy conditions.
Of the 600 students who live in University and private sector residences on the seafront, around half of the students have opted for alternative accommodation provided by the University or to stay with friends in and around the Aberystwyth area.
More than a third of the students have accepted the University’s offer to travel home or away from Aberystwyth until conditions improve.
All students in the University’s Seafront Residences were required to leave their accommodation by 4.00pm today.
Students were offered alternative accommodation and meals on the University’s Penglais Campus or assistance with travel arrangements, should they wish to travel home or away from Aberystwyth (within the UK), until conditions improve.
