Acton School welcomed guests and former governors to its official opening this week. The school has been formed by the joining of the former infant and junior schools, the most recent in a series of similar amalgamations within the County Borough.
John Davies, Wrexham’s Chief Learning and Achievement Officer said:
“Continuity of learning experience is vital for children and young people. I am delighted that the high quality provision that was previously being experienced at the two separate schools is now being maintained and further developed under the leadership of one headteacher and one governing body”.
The Mayor of Wrexham, Cllr Arwel Jones, was on hand to unveil the plaque at a special ceremony which was also attended by governors and former governors Headteacher, Sue Edgar, said:
“Everyone involved with Acton Park Primary School feels proud and privileged to be part of something new and very exciting. We have an extremely dedicated and hardworking team of 80 staff who will be working in close partnership with children, parents, governors and the local authority to ensure Acton Park Primary secures the most effective educational practice.”
