Plenty of residents are expected to flock to the forthcoming Adult Learners’ Week being held in Gartholwg Lifelong Learning Centre.
Organised by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council in conjunction with National Institution of Adult Continuing Education and the Welsh Assembly Government, Adult Learners’ Week runs from May 16 to 21 and a packed programme of free classes are on offer.
At Gartholwg Lifelong Learning Centre in Church Village the range of topics include internet training, family history, drawing and songwriting to name but a few.
The Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, Skills and Lifelong Learning Cllr Eudine Hanagan said: “Adult Learners’ Week is one of the key dates in the lifelong learning calendar in Rhondda Cynon Taf due to the sheer variety and quality of classes available for adults – and it’s all free!
“Every year the enthusiasm displayed by adults to follow such a range of course speaks for itself and I’m sure this year’s programme of events will be equally as well received. As always we try and offer a variety of subjects for residents and hope they will develop their skills and inspire them to following course in the long-term.
“Also one of the key classes includes assisting those people who are applying for jobs which in the current global economic troubles, is unfortunately becoming very common for so many residents.”
