Talacre beach is a beautiful location for a day out in the sun and is very popular with visitors from a wide area. In order to help people to get the most from their visit, Flintshire County Council would like to offer some advice to potential visitors.
“The Easter Holidays have seen the 220 available beach parking spaces quickly snapped up with congestion backing up to the Coast Road between 10.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. each day. As a result we are asking visitors with horses to avoid those hours or take advantage of Bridlewood Riding School’s facilities and safe access to the beach” said Coastal Ranger Karen Rippin. ” We also need them to check the tides because if the tides are in there can be 1500 people on the beach with no room for safe riding in the vicinity of the Lighthouse.
Please contact Bridlewood Riding School if you’re planning a visit with your horse.”
Bridlewood Riding School can be contacted on 01745 888922. The Flintshire leaflet ‘Explore Gronant Dunes and Talacre Warren on Horseback’ can be collected from The Bakery on Station Road, Talacre, or from Wepre Park in Connah’s Quay.
To make your visit more rewarding try to get to your destination early to avoid the congestion, which sometimes can happen, or travel by public transport.
At times of very low tide some areas of mud may be exposed which may trap people. Please proceed with caution at these times.
