Caerphilly Adventures staff participating in the Mountain Skills Course in North Wales

A number of staff members from Caerphilly Adventures have recently achieved new qualifications in Hill and Mountain Skills.

The skills learned in this course will allow Caerphilly Adventures staff to provide the courses to people who enjoy walking and would like to learn safety skills and more knowledge so that they can take to the mountains in their own time.

The nationally accredited courses have been developed by Mountain Training and can now be delivered by Caerphilly Adventures to people interested in experiencing the exploration and the sense of freedom you get from hill and mountain walking.

Cllr Dave Poole, Cabinet Member for Community and Leisure Services, commented, “We encourage our staff to continuously expand their skills so that they can develop professionally and also offer unique opportunities to the communities they work with. The Hill and Mountain Skills Courses are nationally accredited and I would encourage everyone with an interest in walking to sign up to take the course with Caerphilly Adventures.”

Both of the courses are open to anyone over the age of 14. The Hill Skills course is the introductory to hill walking and the Mountain Skills is a progression on from this.
