A Gwent Police PCSO from Abergavenny Neighbourhood Policing Team will be making good use of the local public transport during January.
PCSO Amanda Yung who is the ward PCSO for Llanelly Hill and Crucorney will be holding new style police surgeries on the bus routes transporting shoppers from Abergavenny town centre to Gilwern.
PCSO Yung explains: “We want to make it as easy as possible for local residents to talk to us about the neighbourhood issues affecting them.
“Poor weather conditions often make it impractical for the public to stop for a chat when they see us out and about on patrol and the recent heavy snow fall may make it difficult for people to attend traditional style police surgeries. The bus routes around Abergavenny provide a great way to meet local residents in a warm and safe environment when they are visiting town centre or doing their weekly shop”.
