Building work will be starting on Monday 21 September for approximately 6 weeks at Denbigh library to refurbish the ground floor counter area.
During the building work the Art Gallery on the ground floor will still be accessible and all other services will be provided from the first floor.
The work is being carried out to modernise the library.
The main change is that the cash office which is currently located on the ground floor will be closed and replaced by a payment kiosk that gives residents the ability to make secure automated payments for any council bill whenever the library is open, for example on Saturday mornings or late evenings.
The kiosk will take cash or card payments and post the payment directly to the customer’s account.
Other changes include:
- the library counter will move from the middle to the side of the ground floor so there is more space for customers,
- the One Stop Shop will move down to the ground floor to make it more accessible for customers,
- a new automatic door will be installed to make it easier for customers to enter the building especially those with prams, buggies or in wheel chairs.
