The centre of town will be transformed with a stage set up for local children and people to show their talents and welcome the Eisteddfod in a fun-filled and unusual way. The Proclamation Ceremony will take place as part of the day-long family event. There are also a number of stalls and stands, with all kinds of organisations and societies taking part, creating a special day for people of all ages.
Elfed Roberts, National Eisteddfod Chief Executive, said:
“We are delighted that such a large number have responded to the invitations sent out to local schools, clubs and societies to take part in the Proclamation festival. We very much hope that 3 July will be a fun day out for all the family and will give the people of Wrexham and the local area a taste of what’s to come when the Eisteddfod visits Wrexham during August next year.”
The fun starts at 10.00, when the performances begin on the stage in the centre of town. The Proclamation March starts from Llwyn Isaf around 14.00, and will follow the traffic-free streets of Wrexham, reaching the Gorsedd Stones, again on Llwyn Isaf, by around 15.00, where the Ceremony itself is held. The fun continues on the performance stage in Queens Square until around 17.30 The Eisteddfod is held on land at Lower Berse Farm, Wrexham from 30 July – 6 August next year.
