Plaid Cymru AM Chris Franks today tabled a statement of opinion at the National Assembly wishing Cardiff City success in the Championship Play-Offs.
The Cardiff-born AM for South Wales Central, said: “I want to wish Dave Jones and the team all success in the Play-Off Semi Final against Leicester City. Hopefully, they will win over two legs and then triumph at Wembley.
“Victory for Cardiff and promotion to the Premier League would bring huge benefits to Cardiff and to Wales. Events like the FA Cup Final and the Rugby World Cup put our capital and the country on the map to a global audience and this would do the same.
“There is no doubt that such high profile matches on a regular basis would not only benefit the football club financially but also business in the city. The Premier League is the most popular football league in the world and it would be great if Cardiff was there with the real big boys like Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.
“I’m pleased that off the field issues at Cardiff City have been resolved and everyone can now concentrate on success on the field and the Play-Offs,” added Chris.
