Montgomeryshire Assembly Member, Russell George, is to host a coffee morning in Newtown to raise funds for next year’s National Eisteddfod of Wales, which will be held in Montgomeryshire.
Mr George will be hosting a coffee morning from 10am to 12pm on Saturday 15 February at 13 Parker’s Lane, Newtown, to celebrate the National Eisteddfod coming to the county in 2015. It will be an early opportunity for people to understand what the Eisteddfod coming to Montgomeryshire means for the local community. Also former County Councillor, Beryl Vaughan, who is part of a panel coordinating fundraising efforts, will address those attending about her hopes for the national event and the benefits it will bring.
Commenting, Mr George said:
“I am extremely pleased to be holding this coffee morning, which will be just one of a host of events taking place across the county over the coming year.
“A county Executive Committee has been brought together under the stewardship of Mrs Beryl Vaughan and they have been tasked with raising vital funds to help pay for the all Wales event in 2015.
“One of the main initiatives that they are planning is to hold a very special ‘Grand Raffle’, with a number of major prizes which will hopefully entice lots of people to enter.
“The coffee morning is open to all members of the public and I would encourage people to attend.”
