A pre-school playgroup has won the praise of a Welsh Assembly Member after a ‘fantastic’ inspection report.
Ken Skates, the Labour AM for Clwyd South, paid tribute to staff at Hanmer Playgroup after its current performance and prospects for future improvement were rated as ‘good’ by Estyn. The group is based at St Chad’s Church in Wales Primary School and has 16 children on its roll.
Mr Skates said: “This is a fantastic report which the staff, parents and wider community can all be immensely proud of. The Estyn inspectors highlighted many positives, including the excellent teaching standards and the quality of the care and support given to the children.
“The report also praises the leadership of the group and the progress and improvements which have been made since the last inspection in 2008. There is much to celebrate here, and I would like to congratulate the hard-working and dedicated staff who help Hanmer Playgroup continue to prosper and create such a positive learning environment.”
