A Wrexham business which recently won a national award has been hailed by local Assembly Member Lesley Griffiths.
At the inaugural St David Awards ceremony that took place in Cardiff last week, the Village Bakery won the Enterprise Award, highlighting and praising those who have achieved remarkable success in business.
The prestigious St David Awards were introduced by the Welsh Government in order to recognise and celebrate the exceptional achievements of people in Wales. There are nine different St David Awards, with each prize given a specific category of activity and achievement.
Having already won numerous awards, the Village Bakery is recognised as one of the fastest growing companies in Wales.
In recent years it has expanded significantly to reach sales of £33m and employs over 250 people.
The sites located in Coedpoeth and at the Wrexham Industrial Estate supply a range of retailers including Marks and Spencer, Tesco and the Co-operative.
The company are keen to expand further and last October with the backing of over £560,000 of Welsh Government funding, the Bakery announced plans to double its workforce, creating 60 new jobs in a £1.8m expansion.
