A local Assembly Member turned out to show his support for the Royal National Institute for the Blind earlier this week.
Clwyd West AM Darren Millar, who is a member of the Assembly’s Cross Party Group on Vision, attended a coffee morning held by the RNIB this week in Abergele.
The event was an opportunity for blind and partially sighted people from Darren’s constituency to meet their local AM and share their experiences.
Speaking after the event, Darren said:
‘It was great to see people turn out today for this RNIB coffee morning.
‘I welcomed the opportunity to chat to blind and partially sighted people from our area about issues of concern to them. I was very pleased to note praise for eye care at HM Stanley Hospital and we also discussed the NHS’s plans to relocate these services to Abergele Hospital.
‘The RNIB have developed a manifesto for May’s Assembly Elections which includes lots of sensible policy suggestions which I am happy to support.
‘They do a fantastic job campaigning for blind and partially sighted people. I am always happy to support their work.’
