Local Assembly Member Nick Ramsay is urging older constituents who are worried about living in poor housing to get in touch with Care and Repair Cymru, a charitable organisation which last year helped 30,000 older people tackle their housing problems.
Speaking on Wednesday, Mr Ramsay said:
“Thousands of older people face housing related difficulties every day, ranging from leaking roofs to dangerous electrics. Thankfully Care and Repair Cymru can help people tackle a wide range of problems by visiting them in their own homes, assessing their housing problems, making sure they claim everything they are entitled and helping them access grants. They can also help people find a reliable builder, supervise the work or carry out the work themselves with one of their skilled tradesmen.
“I would urge anyone worried and in need of help with poor housing to contact their local Care and Repair Agency or go to www.careandrepair.org.uk for more information.”
