Labour AM Jeff Cuthbert has welcomed the Labour-led Welsh Government’s decision to extend the small business rate relief scheme for another year.
Under the existing scheme business premises with a rateable value of up to £6,000 receive 100 per cent rate relief and those with a rateable value of between £6,001 and £12,000 receive relief that reduces on a tapered basis from thereon.
Jeff Cuthbert AM said: “I’m pleased to see that the Labour-led Welsh Government is being proactive in helping small businesses in places like Caerphilly and the Rhymney Valley in these challenging economic times.
“However, I realise that there will still be some businesses that find themselves on the wrong side of the threshold and I am always happy to discuss with them ways in which I can make representations on their behalf. My door is always open.”
