Andrew O’Neill Live at Theatr Mwldan

After performing to massive crowds across the summer at the Download, Sonisphere and Bloodstock festivals – Andrew takes his stand up show on the road for 25 dates across the country.

After four successful solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, three national tours and a sell out Soho Theatre run of his show ‘Occult Comedian’ Andrew O’Neil hits Mwldan’s stage on Friday 3rd December at 7.30pm.

Andrew’s surreal, political style has attracted the masses year on year in Edinburgh, and as such has given him a ferocious cult following.  His interest in all things dark and mysterious includes performing regular walking tours of Jack The Ripper’s murder sites with an adapted version of his controversial, and in hindsight, his wholly inaccurate live show, ‘Winston Churchill was Jack The Ripper’. His critically acclaimed ‘Andrew O’Neill’s Totally Spot-On History of British Industry’ led to a Chortle Award nomination for Best Breakthrough act in 2009.

‘Occult Comedian’ is a show where whimsy meets the mysterious side of life. The perfect place to find a man in pink stockings conversing about Aleister Crowley. Acidic yet humble, it’s not hard to see why Andrew has attracted such a loyal audience. Whilst inter-mingling his routines with enthusiastic comic monologues, his show unreels information and humour, detailing events such as interviewing eccentric Watchman author Alan Moore. A show that is hilarious and informative, yet cannot fail to leave you thinking…Just don’t mention The Jonas Brothers.

Andrew can be seen musically ‘leading the UK Steampunk scene’ [NME] with his band, ‘The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing’. Andrew has also opened for Amanda Palmer from ‘The Dresden Dolls’ and has performed stand-up at the Download and Sonisphere festivals. Andrew has also performed at Leicester Comedy Festival, Brighton Comedy Festival Fringe and at the Camden Crawl. This year Andrew appeared at the Adelaide Fringe, and both the Melbourne and New Zealand International Comedy Festivals.

Andrew O’Neill has starred alongside Steve Coogan in Saxondale [BBC 2], and is a regular guest on Sky News and BBC Radio Five Live. His radio credits include The Milk Run [BBC Radio 1], starring alongside Josie Long, Isy Suttie and Danielle Ward. He has recently signed a DVD deal with PIAS Comedy.

Tickets for Andrew O’Neill are £12 (£10) and are available to book online at www.mwldan.co.uk or via Theatr Mwldan’s Box Office on 01239 621200.
