County Council Leader, Councillor Clive McGregor, has welcomed news that the North-South Wales air link will resume shortly.
The Welsh Assembly Government announced last week that Manx2.com – along with its partner carrier FLM Aviation – have been appointed as the new operator for the Anglesey to Cardiff service.
Flights will resume on Monday 10 May with passengers being able to make bookings shortly.
Cllr Clive McGregor said, “This is excellent news for Anglesey and north west Wales.”
“The service has already proved itself to be a huge success, with the passenger numbers speaking for themselves. It is imperative that the service continues as it is a vital link between North and South as well as an important means of attracting new business and investment to the Island and wider region.
He added, “I am pleased that the Assembly has shown its clear commitment to the service, and welcome Manx2.com as new flight operators for the next seven months.”
The Welsh Assembly Government will shortly be undertaking a further tendering exercise at the European level to appoint an operator for a new four-year contract.
Flights can soon be booked on the Manx2.com web-site – www.manx2.com
