The refurbishment of the Prestatyn Railway Station car park is complete and the facility has re-opened.
The scheme consists of increased parking facilities, disabled parking, station pick up and drop off bay and a taxi rank. The car park has been funded from the Taith element of the Regional Transport Consortia Grant, which is funded by the Welsh Government.
It also includes a new public toilet funded by the Department for Transport and a piece of art work funded by the Arts Council.
The scheme was designed by Denbighshire County Council’s Major Projects Group and G.H.Lewis was the contractor.
The scheme forms part of wider improvement works to the railway station which will be undertaken by Network Rail and their contractor.
Councillor Sharon Frobisher, Cabinet Lead Member for Environment, said: “The completion of the car park at the railway station is one piece in a bigger jig-saw of exciting developments going on in Prestatyn.
“The refurbishment of the bottom of the High Street and the bus station is underway, in partnership with Stadium Developments. Once all works are complete, there will be tremendous benefits to residents and people visiting Prestatyn, with improved facilities and enhanced retail offer.
“We would like to reiterate our appreciation to the people of Prestatyn for their co-operation during the redevelopment works.”
