Anti Drink Drive Competition

Wrexham Council’s Road Safety section are looking for groups of young people to enter an anti drink drive DVD competition. The competition is part of a national drink drive campaign scheduled to be run before Christmas. The winning group will receive £200 and will go on to the regional finals with an opportunity to win a further £500!

The competition is open to young people between the ages of 11 and 25 and involves producing a DVD or Video that is no longer than 3 minutes long and using no more than 6 people. They can use any means to get their message across. Singing, comedy, drama, dance, speeches, poems, animation, speeches or any other medium will be acceptable.

Judges will be looking for the originality of the piece, the message it sends out and the impact of that message and the performance of the players.

Winners will be invited to receive their prizes at Parc y Scarlets, Llanelli, on 2nd December at an all expenses paid ceremony.

Cllr David Bithell, Lead Member for the Environment and Transport,

“This is an excellent opportunity for young people to show off their producing and creative skills and I am encouraging all of them to get in touch and start recording!”

If you think your child may belong to a group that would benefit from £200 and producing their own DVD or video ask them to get in touch with Wendy Davies Williams on 01978 297142.

Closing date for entries is Friday 22nd October 2010.
