An appeal for information and witnesses is being made following two attempted robberies in the Caia Park area of Wrexham.

At around 3.56pm yesterday, October 11, police received a report of an attempt robbery on a 48-year-old man in the Gwenfro area of Caia Park. An offender, who was armed with a knife, demanded money from the victim and a struggle ensued as a result of which the victim sustained a minor injury to his hand.
The offender then fled empty handed.
Police are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Gwenfro at around the time of the incident to contact detectives immediately.
The offender is described as being around 17 to 19 years-old, with short graded dark coloured hair and around 5ft 10′ tall. He was described as being of slim to medium build with a pale complexion.
Police are now linking the incident to another attempt robbery which happened in Caia Park on Friday, October 8.
A 47-year-old woman was walking along Bryn Hafod area at around 5.10pm when she was approached by an offender who demanded money from her. The victim ran to a nearby address where she raised the alarm. The offender fled empty handed.
High visibility patrols are being conducted in the Caia Park area. House to house inquiries are continuing in the vicinity.
