Police in Prestatyn are calling on residents to recall to the end of January when a collision happened in the town.
At around 4.30pm a 12-year-old boy and two friends were standing on Ffordd Penrhwylfa waiting to cross the road. The 12-year-old had hold of his bike and what is described as a red coloured 4×4 vehicle collided with the front wheel of the bike which caused it to fall over on its side taking the 12-year-old with it.
The driver stopped a short distance away and spoke to the victim. He is believed to have then returned to the vehicle and drove off towards the Ffrith.
The driver of a white vehicle travelling in the opposite direction stopped to check on the welfare of the victim. He did not get out of the car and after speaking to the victim drove away.
Police investigations into the collision are continuing, house to house inquiries have been undertaken and officers are keen to trace the driver of the vehicle and the driver of the white car who stopped following the incident.
The driver was described as white, between 40 and 45 years of age and was wearing a black beanie hat, red puffer jacket and jeans.
Officers are continuing to appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information relating to the collision to contact PC 2381 McDiarmid on 101 (if in Wales) 0845 6071001 (Welsh language line) 0845 6071002 (English language line). Alternatively, individuals can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously with information on 0800 555 111.
