Police are appealing for information following an assault that occurred on Pontygwindy Road, Caerphilly at about 12pm on Monday (July 28th).
The assault occurred when the victim – a cyclist who was travelling toward Asda – got off his bike when he had reached the church on Pontygwindy Road. Two men got out of a car – believed to have been travelling in the same direction – and assaulted him.
The cyclist, who is 50 and from Caerphilly, went to the Royal Gwent Hospital for treatment for his injuries.
It’s believed there were a number of witnesses to the assault. If anyone has information they are asked to call Gwent Police on 101 quoting log number 424 28/7/14.
