Appeal for information after robbery in Caerphilly

Gwent Police is appealing for information following a robbery that occurred in a lane to the rear of Pontygwindy Road in Caerphilly at approximately 9pm on Friday 11th March.

A man was walking down the lane near to the entrance of Caerphilly Rugby Club when he was approached by two males, believed to be in their late teens. After asking for the time, one of the offenders threatened him with a knife while the other removed his watch.

The two offenders, both wearing jeans, trainers and light coloured hooded tops, then made off in the direction of Home Bargains in the Pontygwindy Road area. The victim was left shaken but unharmed.

The incident is currently being investigated and officers are asking anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area on Friday evening or anyone who may have information to contact them on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
