Gwent Police is appealing for information following a fire at a house in Tillery Street, Abertillery.
Officers were called to the incident at approximately 12.30am yesterday morning, Monday 3rd January 2011.
Five houses on the street were temporarily evacuated while the fire was dealt with but no one was injured.
Police are treating the fire as deliberately set and would appeal to anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious in the area from 9pm until the incident was reported is asked to call Gwent Police on 01633 838111 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
