Police are appealing for information after a householder disturbed an intruder in his home in Caethro.
Detective Sergeant Ynyr Hughes said that the man got into the house at 6.46am on Wednesday March 23 through an unlocked front door.
He said the occupier was upstairs and heard someone in his living room so came downstairs to confront a man in his 20’s who then made off on a bicycle.
He said the intruder was described as white, stocky build, 5ft 6ins tall and wearing a brown Bandana on his head. He wore a blue coat zipped right up, pair of jeans and black woollen gloves.
“He rode off on a brown bike with a basket on the back, which looked like a ladies cycle and we are anxious to speak to anyone who might have been in the area at this time of the morning and saw anything suspicious.
“We are also urging people to be more security conscious and make sure that windows and doors are locked securely. Nothing was taken in this instance but we are urging people to be more vigilant.”
