North Wales Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted on the High Street, Porthmadog shortly after midnight on Saturday February 19.
Sergeant Colin Jones said that they were anxious to speak to anyone who might have been in the area at this time and witnessed the attack.
He said that two local men had been arrested in connection with the assault and released on police bail pending further inquiries.
“The injured man was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, for treatment and released the following day.
“This would appear to have been a cowardly, unprovoked and unjustified attack upon a defenceless male. Behaviour of this nature is not acceptable and I would like to reassure the community that North Wales Police are committed to eradicate this kind of offence.
“I am now appealing to the community of Porthmadog for help and asking anyone with information to please let us know.”
