Wrexham Council has announced that they have appointed Dr Helen Paterson as their new Chief Executive.
Dr Paterson is currently Strategic Director of Transformation with Sunderland City Council. Previously she has been a head teacher (Hampshire), Director of School Improvement, Performance and Partnership (Solihull) and Executive Director of Children’s Services (Sunderland). She has been a JP since 1993 and is a member of a wide range of national and regional groups.
Dr Paterson said:
“I am thrilled to accept this role and look forward to working with Members, staff, partners and residents.”
Wrexham Council Leader, Cllr Aled Roberts, said:
“We are very pleased to welcome on board Dr Paterson who proved a very impressive candidate for the post and I am delighted she has accepted our offer to join us here in Wrexham. She will be a tremendous asset for Wrexham as the Council looks towards overcoming the challenging times ahead to ensure Wrexham residents receive the very best services from their Council.”
Dr Paterson will be joining Wrexham Council in the Summer. In the interim period the Council’s three Strategic and Performance Directors will continue to take on the role of Chief Executive of the Council.
