Neath Port Talbot Council is in line to pick up a series of major awards this week for their work improving public services to local people.
APSE, the Association of Public Sector Excellence Awards take place on Thursday evening (10th) and the council is in the run in to take the overall Council of the Year in Service Delivery Awards.
The honour is up for grabs after the council collected four APSE nominations for its efforts in areas like managing the South Wales Trunk Road Agency (SWTRA), delivering citizen-centred services more efficiently, tackling pay inequalities and improving and regenerating renewal areas.
The entries have been submitted by a number of council teams all working to deliver better services to our local communities.
Ali Thomas, Leader of Neath Port Talbot Council, said, “This is excellent news for the council and our residents as they are the ones who will see the benefits across the county borough. Each year we aim to improve our services and to be shortlisted in four categories is an excellent achievement that certainly highlights the hard work that has been put in.”
