HRH Princess Royal, Patron of Wales’ leading cancer charity Tenovus, will be the guest of honour at the charity’s annual Lovelight concert at Llandaff Cathedral on Monday (28 November).
Hosted by Archbishop of Wales Dr Barry Morgan, this year’s uplifting concert, which offers friends and family the opportunity to come together to remember loved ones, will include appearances from Treorchy Male Voice Choir, Howells School Choir and Tenovus’ Sing For Life Choir.
The Lovelight concert, which is now in its 4th year, coincides with the launch of the Tenovus Remember Me website, which gives families an opportunity to pay tribute to loved ones or to light a virtual candle in their memory.
The Archbishop said, “Tenovus is a Welsh charity which provides essential treatment and support for cancer patients and their relatives. Its Mobile Support Unit has delivered treatment, health awareness messages and support to more than 5,000 people in communities across Wales. It is a sobering fact that every day in Wales, 46 people are diagnosed with cancer. Tenovus deserves all the help we can give it”.
Claudia McVie, Chief Executive of Tenovus, said:
“We are delighted to welcome back our patron, Her Royal Highness Princess Royal, to Wales.
“Her continued support to patients and families in Wales who have been affected by cancer is invaluable to us.
“Lovelight gives families and friends an opportunity to come together to remember the lives of those who have been affected by cancer and to send good wishes for those who are suffering.
“By holding our Lovelight concert every year, combined with the launch of our Remember Me website, we hope to raise much needed support and funds for people living with cancer.”
Tickets for the event, which starts at 7.30pm, are priced at £10 per person and are available from the Tenovus website tenovus.org.uk or on 029 2076 8850.
