South Wales Police is appealing for witnesses to an armed robbery which happened at a bookmakers shop in Grangetown, Cardiff, at around 9.50am today.
A man entered the Ladbrokes Bookmakers with what has been described as a black handgun and demanded money from a lone female member of staff.
He was wearing a balaclava, gloves and a red top. He is described as being of Asian appearance around 5ft 5in tall, of small build with a local accent.
He made off with a quantity of cash into the back lane and in the direction of Havelock Place.
The female member of staff has described being scared and stunned by the incident. She was not injured.
An investigation is continuing.
