Armistice Day two minute silence to be observed in Barry

The Royal British Legion with the Vale of Glamorgan Council will be observing the nationwide two-minute silence for Armistice Day, in Barry at 11 am on Thursday 11 November 2010.

A short service will take place on the Civic Office forecourt in front of the Merchant Seamen Memorial.

The Mayor of the Vale of Glamorgan, Councillor Colin Osborne, together with the council chief cxecutive, Leader of the council and other political leaders and representatives of local organisations will lay wreaths. The start and end of the silence will be marked by the playing of the Last Post and Reveille.

Councillor Osborne extends an invitation to members of the public to join him at the ceremony.

Please assemble at the Civic Office forecourt at 10.50 am.
