Art and craft looks set to be on top of the agenda this March as a variety of arts training courses for talented artists will be held in Gwynedd.
The one day courses, arranged by Gwynedd Council’s Community Arts Unit, will be a great opportunity for artists to receive training in different fields and to expand their knowledge which could be beneficial in their work and career.
The ‘Marketing for Artists’ course offers to introduce artists to marketing ideas and promotion methods whilst ‘Introduction to Community Arts’ is a course for artists who have an interest in working in the community arts field. Maria Hayes, who has over 20 years of experience in this field , will be leading the above courses.
‘Planning and hanging exhibitions’ is the third course and it’s suitable for artists and craft makers who are keen to learn more about how to present work to exhibition planners. Guidance on how to professionally hang an exhibition will be provided with a practical session also included. Delyth Gordon and David Huntington , both of whom are very experienced in hanging exhibitions will be leading the course.
Gwawr Wyn Roberts, Gwynedd Council’s Community Arts Development Officer said:
“March promises to be a great month for artists in Gwynedd with exciting courses being held by experts in the field.
“From developing marketing skills to learning how to hang an exhibition, there’ll be something for everyone who enjoys the arts.
“It’s very important that you book a place to attend these one-day courses and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, with priority given to those who live or work in Gwynedd. Make sure you don’t miss out.”
