The Safer Neath Port Talbot Partnership has successfully applied for an Anti-Social Behaviour Order against 19-year-old Shane Lovett.
Lovett, who lives in North Cornelly, was made the subject of an ASBO at Neath Magistrates Court to protect the public from his anti-social behaviour.
The court heard how Lovett has been involved in a number of criminal and anti-social incidents throughout 2010.
The order bans him from entering a large part of Port Talbot, other than to travel through the area by car, bus or train.
He is also prohibited from being in any public place in Neath Port Talbot between 9pm and 6am and is prevented from being drunk, consuming alcohol or possessing any unsealed container containing any intoxicating liquor in any public place in Neath Port Talbot.
Lovett is also prevented from using any threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour in any public place in the Neath Port Talbot County Borough and from being in company with an individual named in the order.
Paul Lewis, of the Safer Neath Port Talbot Partnership Anti-Social Behaviour Unit, said: “Shane Lovett was the subject of a similar order in 2008 which significantly reduced his offending but his behaviour since the order elapsed has caused us considerable concern.
“This is the first time the Safer Neath Port Talbot Partnership has had to seek a second Anti-Social Behaviour Order on the same individual which demonstrates our commitment to taking action against individuals who impact on the quality of life enjoyed by residents of Neath Port Talbot.”
Lovett’s behaviour has been a cause of concern for residents of the Margam and Taibach areas of Port Talbot.
Inspector Karl Eenmaa of the Port Talbot Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “Shane Lovett’s behaviour deteriorated almost immediately after the previous order elapsed and I am sure the residents of Margam and Taibach will welcome this further action which has been taken by the Safer Neath Port Talbot Partnership.
“I would encourage residents to report all incidents of anti-social behaviour and if they believe the terms of this order are being breached they should contact the police as any breaches will result in arrest.”
