Shadow Minister for Equality Mohammad Asghar has encouraged residents in South Wales East to recycle unwanted analogue televisions following the digital switchover.
Wales became the first UK nation to go digital after the Wenvoe transmitter was converted at the end of March.
Mr Asghar, who is the National Assembly Member for South Wales East, said: “The digital switchover is a historic moment for television in Wales. It’s a source of pride that Wales has become the first UK nation to go digital!
“I would encourage anyone experiencing difficulties after the switchover to telephone the Digital UK helpline”.
He urged people to take advantage of initiatives that will allow unwanted analogue televisions to be recycled ethically and in an environmentally friendly manner.
“It is important that old unwanted televisions are recycled. We all have a role to play in improving the environment.”
