Commenting on the publication of the Welsh Government’s White Paper consultation on legislative proposals to end violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence, Mohammad Asghar AM, Shadow Minister for Equalities, said:
“No one should have to live in fear of the threat of violence or abuse.
“We welcome this consultation on proposals to change attitudes to eradicate domestic violence and we offer the Welsh Government our support in delivering any constructive legislative proposals, which could achieve this goal.
“Measures to improve the provision of services for victims of domestic violence are well overdue, particularly those that deal with the mental scars of abuse, which too often go undiagnosed.”
