Commenting on new figures showing that disabled people in Wales are still more likely to have no qualifications than non-disabled people, Shadow Minister for Equality, Mohammad Asghar AM said:
“These figures reveal the on-going challenges that disabled people continue to face in Welsh society. Disabled people are 16% more likely than non-disabled people to have no qualifications at all.
“It remains an issue of concern in Wales that many minority groups, including disabled people, have to overcome additional hurdles to achieve the same ambitions as everyone else.
“The Assembly Government needs to ensure that measures are in place to help give disabled people not only the opportunity but also the confidence to achieve their goals.”
