Mohammad Asghar, Shadow Minister for Equalities, has called on the Welsh Government to promote the importance of diverse school governance.
Speaking in the Senedd on Wednesday, he said: “School governors make a hugely important contribution to education and to the policy direction of schools.
“It is crucial that schools have a diverse governance structure in place”.
Mr Asghar wants to see the Welsh Government take steps to encourage “more disabled people or those from an ethnic minority background to become governors.”
