Mohammad Asghar, Shadow Minister for Equalities & Sport, has urged the Welsh Government to raise awareness of disability hate crime.
Speaking to the First Minister, he said: “It is very concerning that the number of disability hate crimes increased in all four police force areas during 2010-11”.
Mr Asghar called on the Welsh Government to ensure the scale of the problem is adequately recognised and highlighted concerns about a lack of awareness of disability hate crime.
He urged the First Minister to ensure policy-making took this issue into consideration so tackling the problem was considered “a top equality priority in Wales”.
