Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman was assaulted whilst walking near Bala on Monday, 5th April.
Sometime between 20:15 and 22:00, an incident occurred between the village of Glan yr Afon and the druid traffic light on the A494 near Bala, whereby a lone woman was walking along the road towards the direction of the A5.
A vehicle, travelling towards the direction of Bala stopped and the 32-year-old woman was assaulted by the male driver.
Following the attack, the woman walked to the druid traffic light on the junction with the A5, and possibly spoke to a man and a woman who were sitting in a vehicle which was stationary at the junction.
The woman was very distressed at the time and police are anxious to trace anyone who may have seen her walking along this stretch of road at the time.
A police spokeswoman said: “This is a particularly dangerous stretch of road for pedestrians during the hours of darkness as was in this case. Any vehicles travelling along the road may have had to slow down or manoeuvre around this pedestrian.
“We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen her speaking to a lone male in a dark coloured car and anyone with information is urged to contact us.”
The woman was taken to hospital to be treated for her injuries.
