Attempted Burglary in Maesteg

South Wales PolicePolice in Bridgend are appealing for information following an attempted burglary which occurred sometime between 4.00pm and 9.00pm on Tuesday 11th February.

An attempt was made to gain access to the rear of a house on Chestnut Grove after entering the rear garden via a side gate.

The culprit or culprits then attempted to gain entry by trying to force the rear kitchen door open before possibly being disturbed by two large dogs at the address. They then made good their escape without gaining entry to the property.

Detective constable Rebecca Merchant of Bridgend CID said:

“This attempt to burgle a house on Chestnut Grove took place in the middle of the afternoon and in broad daylight.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen anyone behaving suspiciously in the area around that time to contact us.”
