Attempted robbery, Cardiff: Police appeal for witness

Police in Cardiff are investigating an attempt robbery which occurred in the Pentwyn area of the city.

A 60-year-old man was stationary in his car on Bryn Celyn Road at around 12.20am on Sunday, April 4 when someone reached in through the window, opened the passenger door of his car and grabbed him.The driver then accelerated away from the scene.

The male suspect is described as:

  • white
  • approximately 20 years old
  • 5ft 9in tall
  • of stocky build:
  • and was wearing a green or grey Parker style jacket which had fur around the hood.

He was holding a knife which is thought to be around six inches long with black tape wrapped around the handle.
