Award for Denbighshire school

Staff, governors, parents and pupils at a Dee Valley school are celebrating receiving the Investors in People (IiP) accolade for the fourth time.

An IiP review was carried out at Ysgol Caer Drewyn, Corwen, and the school was assessed against a number of criteria relating to performance, personal development, decision-making and leadership.

Areas of good practice include:

  • Excellent social responsibility aspect in supporting the holistic development of pupils and their family.
  • Good engagement with other networks and school clusters.
  • Proactive role and involvement of the governing body.
  • Positive consultation culture between the senior management team and wider staff.
  • Good evidence of individual support and encouragement for staff.

Headteacher, Jayne Davies, said, “We are delighted to achieve this award for the fourth time which is down to the hard work and dedication of all staff, pupils, governors and parents.   We are proud that Ysgol Caer Drewyn has successfully been involved with Investors in People for over 10 years.”
