There is a special opportunity for people to see a show home at Bala’s Awel y Coleg development for the first time.
An information day is to be held at Canolfan Bro Tegid, Y Bala on Tuesday, 24 April between 10.30am and 3pm. There will be a chance to see one of the apartments during the day.
A mini bus has been organised to take people who are interested in being considered for an apartment, and their families, from Canolfan Bro Tegid to the building site where a member of staff from Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd will guide them around the show home. Two or three trips will be held during the day, the first is to start at 12.30pm and the last at 2.30pm.
The information day will be a chance to find out more about the scheme:
- The exact living and care costs for tenants;
- What benefits are available for older people to help towards housing and care costs;
- How Gwynedd Council, Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd and the Health Service can ensure that the individual care needs of each resident is met;
- Information, ideas and options if a potential tenant wants to sell or let their own home so that they can rent a flat at Awel y Coleg.
There will be an opportunity to speak to officers about the facilities and activities on offer at Awel y Coleg and to find out about the technology and equipment which will be used to make life easier for residents.
Gwen Carrington, Gwynedd Council’s Head of Housing and Social Services, said:
“This open day is a great opportunity for people to see one of the apartments at Awel y Coleg with their own eyes and to get a better idea of what will be on offer there.
“I would urge anyone who is considering taking a flat, or a member of their family, to arrange to be shown around.
“As building work comes to an end we are getting ready to open Awel y Coleg, a clearer picture of the exact living costs and what day to day life there will be like is emerging. The open day will give people the opportunity to speak to officers from both Gwynedd Council and Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd about these matters.”
All are welcome to the information day, free tea/coffee will be provided.
