Baglan Library will undergo a refurbishment later in the year thanks to a £115,000 grant.
The Welsh Government CyMAL grant is part of a scheme to refurbish libraries across Wales.
Baglan Library is one of 8 in Wales to receive this opportunity in 2012, and Neath Port Talbot’s sixth refurbishment project.
Other NPT libraries to have benefitted are Neath, Sandfields, Glynneath, Cwmafan and most recently Port Talbot.
The funds will allow every feature in the library to be replaced including additional computers, a new layout to enable more flexibility of space for community use as well as a new children’s area.
It is expected the library will close for about 3 weeks for the refurbishment work to be completed.
Russell Ward, Head of Partnerships and Community Development said: “Libraries are an invaluable asset to all our communities. We are delighted that Baglan Library has been chosen to receive this grant this year. It will certainly enhance this splendid resource for the benefit of the community.”
