Bang Goes the Theory LIVE is back for an explosive third year and will be coming to Gwent Square and the Congress Theatre in Cwmbran from 2–3 September 2011, as part of a UK tour organised by BBC Learning.
Dallas Campbell, Liz Bonnin, Jem Stansfield and Dr Yan Wong are bringing their action-packed live show to Cwmbran and will test, stretch and explode science live on stage. The show features some of the best stunts from the first four series of Bang Goes the Theory and will also give the audience a sneak peak at what’s coming up in the new series.
Bang Goes the Theory LIVE has already welcomed over 300,000 people to its live science shows and proved that science can be fun. This is a show for anyone who is remotely curious about life, the Universe and pretty much everything. The free event is an opportunity for fans to meet the presenters, try out fun science experiments for themselves and watch a variety of daring science stunts!
Liz Bonnin, presenter of Bang Goes the Theory, said:
“Being able to communicate our passion for science at the Bang Goes the Theory LIVE roadshows is a real privilege. People get involved with hands on experiments, join us on stage during our live shows, and we often end up having really good debates about how things work, with all ages, which proves to me that anyone with a natural curiosity about the world around them is a scientist at heart. It is simply wonderful to be part of that and to engage with so many enthusiastic people all over the country.”
Free Bang Goes the Theory LIVE shows are taking place from 2–3 September at 12pm, 1pm, 3pm and 4pm each day in the Congress Theatre, Cwmbran. Free tickets are available at bbc.co.uk/bang/roadshow.
There is also the opportunity for people to get hands-on with science in the new and improved Bang Interactive Area on Gwent Square from 11am to 6pm each day. The Interactive Area is the home of Dr Yan’s Street Science where he will be demonstrating the best of his hands-on science featured on the TV show and the Bang website. It is also the place where you can put your questions to the team at 5.00pm each day. In addition, there will be a host of fun science exhibits provided by our science partners including the Open University, the Institute of Physics and the Society of Biology.
