Are you interested in Gwynedd’s countryside and enjoy the county’s network of footpaths and open spaces? If so, you may want to consider becoming a member of the Arfon-Dwyfor Local Access Forum.
The Local Access Forum advises the Council, the Countryside Council for Wales and other related organisations regarding improvement to public paths and public access to land and water in the county with the aim of promoting outdoor activities.
In accordance with national regulations, Gwynedd Council is currently in the process of re-appointing members to the Local Access Forum, for those areas of Arfon and Dwyfor that are not within the Snowdonia National Park. The Local Access Forum meets on a regular basis and it is important that members attend all meetings – it is expected that the forum with consist of between 12 and 20 members.
Councillor Gareth Roberts, Gwynedd Council’s Senior Environment Portfolio Leader said:
“The Local Access Forum plays a very important role in working with the Council and our partners to improve access to the countryside throughout the county. Members of the Forum work closely with the Council’s Rights of Way team and others to improve countryside access and we would urge anyone who is interested in becoming a member to submit their application by 24 February.”
