‘Bedwas Bites Back’ is the name of a Peoples Millions Lottery Bid.
If successful they will win £40,000 for them to refurbish the theatre facilities at Bedwas Workmans Hall. Built in 1923 by public subscription, it has been the centre of all types of entertainment in Bedwas, Trethomas & Machen through the years and is remembered with affection by many people.
It is still an important Arts Centre, capable of seating 500, and is centrally placed for the whole Caerphilly Basin. It will be featured on ITV’s Evening News on the 24th. of November and will be in competition with a rival Bid from the Cynon Valley. The decision will be down to a public telephone vote so they are asking for your kind support.
If they are successful they believe that this will be the start of much bigger improvement for the Hall so that they can make it a first-class Arts Facility which will be available for all to enjoy.
