Bermingham & Robinson Oriel Mwldan Exhibition 2011

Artists Robert Bermingham and Richard Robinson have worked collaboratively over the past six years, and their latest project will be exhibiting at Oriel Mwldan, Cardigan between 20 August and 01 October 2011.

Their works reference boyhood, advertising, comic books, computer games and corporate culture, born out of the need to reconcile the promise of a sun-filled youth with the stark reality of growing up. It questions the belief that as the world becomes more modern so it will become more reasonable and enlightened – exposing the misapprehension that a truly modern world will have rational, forward-looking and humane values.

For this exhibition, Bermingham and Robinson are making a new body of work, responding to Theatr Mwldan, which reflects their creative dialogue on cultural references to a promised future using the visual language of forgotten film advertising. This new direction of work discusses ideas of fear and excitement in both their past and our future. Visit berminghamandrobinson.com for further details.

Further information on Oriel Mwldan’s exciting programme of exhibitions is available in Mwldan’s current brochure, via the Box Office on 01239 621200, or at www.mwldan.co.uk. Oriel Mwldan is open between 10am and 8pm every day and there is no charge for entry.
