Best Ever Entries for Love Where You Live

Residents across Rhondda Cynon Taf have come forward in their droves to show how much they love where they live.

The annual Love Where You Live Awards has received a record number of applications this year, which is set to make it a tough competition for the green beacons in our community!

With over 80 excellent applications received across the categories the judges of the competition will certainly be kept busy as they sift through them in a bid to crown the winners.

The scheme rewards individuals, businesses, schools or local communities throughout the County Borough that have championed and introduced positive, inspiring and beneficial changes to the environment.

The awards take place every summer in the Muni Arts Centre, Pontypridd and are set to take place on 21st June 2011.

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Frontline Services Cllr Anthony Christopher said:

“The Love Where You Live Awards aim to inspire the local community and businesses to join in and assist us in improving their community, as well as highlighting the achievements of the many environmental champions we have across Rhondda Cynon Taf.

“Annually the Love Where You Live Awards has grown to become one of the highlights of the Rhondda Cynon Taf calendar and the entries this year prove that this year will be even bigger and better with the highest number of entries being received. The awards involve so many different sections of the community who are committed to improving the local environment for the benefit of everyone. By working together we can make Rhondda Cynon Taf an even cleaner and greener place to live in, work in and visit.”
